Painters Box

I found this box thrifting for $1. It contained a small set of children's pastels. I started painting a design on it with oil and with gold leaf, which I decided to ditch as it wasn't working. I then went back in and removed the design and repainted the bare timber with a stain I made. I then created a palette and spacers from scrap, which I glued in place to keep the palette raised. I then painted the interior of the box a neutral grey, that will help keep color un-influenced by the box color while painting. I added a very small palette cup, which I bought a year ago, unknowing how small it was.. its perfect for this project! I painting the outside sides, and sprayed the palette with a sealer to stop paint seeping into the palette. This box will be used as a Sketch Box and or a paint and brush carrier while hiking to paint..
